 Redwall: Martin's Legacy

Heya! TP here with my new Redwall site, Martin's Legacy. We're new, and we need members badly, so join here: http://z8.invisionfree.com/Martins_Legacy/index.php?act=idx

We are a literate site; we need members and characters badly, and many story-centric positions are open, so there are lots of opportunities!

Plot Synopsis:

Quote:

Many seasons ago, in the time of Kotir, Martin the Warrior left Noonvale and the North Shores and headed south. On the way there, he found a pretty mouse maiden who reminded him of Rose. Although he felt guilty about the whole ordeal, they fell in love, and they had a son who Martin named after his father, Luke. However, he was forced to give him up, so that he might continue his wanderings. Luke learned of his parentage some seasons later, and lost his mind in the process. He murdered his family and set off to find his father to take revenge for being abandoned. When he finally found Martin, he challenged the warrior mouse and fought him. Martin defeated him and gave him to a group of merchants.

The merchant ship was later attacked by a crew of Searats. All of the merchants were slain except for Luke, who was thrown overboard. The sea carried him to the shore, where he was found by a lovely mouse maiden. She cared for him, and he told her his story. She pitied him, and came to hate Martin too. They were later married and the mouse maid gave birth to a son, who was taught to hate and despise Martin and Redwall.

This son later wandered off and took over a kingdom to the north, ruled by a group of mustelids calling themselves The Brethren. This son's heirs slowly expanded their realm, until The Brotherhood ruled the North. But The Brotherhood was not just any horde; it contained creatures of all species, from fox to squirrel, ferret to otter.

And, during one hot summer many hundreds of seasons later, one of the mouse kings, descendant of the Warrior, heard that Martin's sword was no longer revered at Redwall and that the Abbey was in decline. Taking the opportunity, the mouse king lead a small group of woodlanders to Redwall. And there he found the sword of his ancestor, the sword which the Warrior had used to defeat his son in battle. And he took it, burning down the Abbey in the process.

With Redwall greatly weakened, vermin and evil woodlanders spread through the lands. Corsairs sailed up the River Moss to escape the Long Patrol on the Western Shore. Soon, there were corsair crews everywhere in Mossflower and it wasn't safe for woodlanders to wander away from Redwall.

In the north, there was a clan of rats descended from Cluny. They had all been taught to hate woodlanders and Redwall. At first, their leader tried to carve out his own empire, fighting against the Brethren and their horde. However, he realized that they both hated Redwall, and they decided to work together. And at the ruins of Marshank, a descendant of Badrang found his ancestor's fortress and made plans to rebuild the fortress. He gathered a band of slavers and went into Mossflower Country to enslave the woodlanders there. With these three great dark hordes; those of Badrang's descendant, the clan of Cluny, and first and foremost, the Brotherhood, the reign of the vermin is at paw.

Now the creatures of Redwall, torn apart by inner rivalries and rabid racism towards "vermin", must try to band together and retrieve the sword. But the King of The Brethren is most definitely not the only problem standing in their way, most especially since it is only the Father Abbot himself who trusts in Martin's Sword - and he may not be Father Abbot for long...

Dervious furrowed his scaley eyebrows as he landed beside Syrenea. What was wrong? It wasn't hard to tell that she was upset, she wasn't even acting cheery as she might normally do. The immortal dragon snorted, clutching the thick tome in one of his hands as he moved closer to his mate, gazing over her searching for some invisible area where her sorrow focused on. "Hey..." he said softly, lowering his ead so he was eye to eye with her. "What's wrong?" he asked, putting one of his wings over her as if to shield her from any bad problems that would cause her such sorrow.

Power seemed to emanate from the tome in his claws. It was surely an object of power which could not possibly be found in any other places save for where he had borrowed it. That was for sure and if anyone ever found it, trouble would quickly arise especially if in the wrong claws. That was why Dervious had sought it. Trouble was arising, plants were dying from the lack of sun, sure they had water but what would dry it up? And if the food that dragons ate died away which was more or less other animals, then they, too, would die.

His grip on the book tightened at the thought of loosing Syrenea to a starvation from the Evil Alliance's foolish greed. That would not happen. He would be sure of that. Ahead, Dervious could barely see out of the corner of his eye, the blackness that told him he was nearing a cave despite the cover that the trees provided. Perhaps Wynd could possibly help him. He'd been in love longer than Dervious obviously had, perhaps he could aid him in such an area as Dervious knew basically nothing relating to a dragoness and her emotions.

"I...I..." Syrenea looked away from Dervious. How could she tell him? It wasn't that she was so existential as that, but she had fear. Dervious was immortal, and she was half-immortal. Did that blood give her immortality, too? She didn't want to die someday and leave Dervious behind. She looked at him - they were soulmates, but they hadn't actually committed the mating act like Wynd and Decylia. Syrenea hadn't brought it up, but in truth, she was terrified. So many things could happen. She feared for their eggs if they had any after their first mating. If they had none, they could try again at a later time, but it was safer that way, and they still would have shared the bond that came from it. And what if she died? She didn't wnat to mate with him and then die someday. And...what if she wasn't beautiful enough? Sure, she would have liked the physical gratification part of it, as would Dervious, she was sure, but was she good enough? Sure, they were soulmates, but she was just an average girl.

She was just an average dragon from Thyrval, the desert. Sure, her orange scales were exotic, but was she really good enough for Dervious? He was an ancient dragon, and she was only out of adolescence. Surely he had seen more enchanting beauties, talked to smarted dragonesses than her. So why? What right had she to be his soulmate? Sometimes she felt so out of place. She could read now, and write, but still she was hardly a scholar. She was still the healer of Thyrval, the bold girl from the desert.

She found herself landing, wiping tears from her eyes. There was no reason to worry him. She knew it was stupid to try and hide anything from him, but she would try anyway.

"We're almost there." She said quietly when he landed beside. "Want to walk the rest of the way? My wings ache."

 Drawn to Death

[Quote]

It was not night. It was morning. No night sounds were made and there was a sickening fog that drifted over the comforting graveyard. It held the sweet smell of water moistening what little grass was about the dead area and forcing Gritt to wrinkle his curl his lip back in disgust. Very few members of the cult were like him, having formed a bitter attitude towards certain things.

It was morning and since it was, everyone went their ways until they heard the first sounds of a night critter chirping or making their noise. That was when the meetings came to order. Gritt personally chose to make his way towards the graveyard whereas most dragons steered clear of it due to the "foreboding sense" it gave some of them. Flesh wasn't necessarily abundant in these areas. Bones were, Gritt knew that, after all, he belonged with them. In most cases he was only a sack of bones, but ones of power. He enjoyed tormenting others, laying on the ground lifeless, like another skeleton until they moved by.

His blazing fire-colored eyes flickered towards the massive skull of a long dead dragon. Of course he wasn't one of the largest dragons around but Gritt knew that there were a few towering dragons around who could step on Gritt and break his neck...if he wore his costume of flesh and muscle. However, they couldn't and this one of dead, its skull now used as some sanctuary for rodents and other creatures. Often times young dragonlings would find their way in to the graveyard, most not uncomfortable with the surroundings because they grew up around it.

What had drawn Gritt however was not the skull or animals or even dragonlings. He felt drawn by his own four feet for no reason in particular unless his god had directed him this way for a reason. At that thought he immediately forced his flesh and muscle to disappear, appearing to disintigrate(Sp?) right before one's very eyes and quite quickly. Whatever it was, it was only natural to be greeted in the formal form of skeletal. He advanced deeper into the graveyard, passing skeletons of creatures all shapes and sizes, some things with gaping jaws wide enough he could have crawled and sheltered in.

Gritt's thoughts were easily switched as he passed dark shadows of looming rib cages and skulls. Often times dragons of alliances came by, mostly those who sought power, to propose possible opportunities to the cult. Always, they had been turned down. One of the Evil leader's slaves had come to do such thing but with threats from the infamous Defyre. False threats so far and Gritt wasn't surprised. Most power was backed up with lies. Save for his leader. His was backed by a god. One who served only their cult, or more of the other way around. Help was served, help was given. Tribute, of course, was something others feared. Others outside the cult. Gritt knew that, perhaps he was supposed to do that now. Find a being to sacrifice...

Greetings, my fellow dragons. To warm-up I'll be alerting you that I, Hedger Baretooth, will be giving you the most talked about, best news straight from the scaley mouths of others! And for some of you my name is pronounced head-jer.

In the most recent news: UPDATES! Those lazy good-for-nothing administrators are actually picking their rear-ends up and doing something to clean this place up! They're going to be changing things around, adding informative things, and things.

Now, I'm sure the gossip has gone 'round and you must all be excited about the new trouble arising in a graveyard! Either way, I'll tell you anyway! First, these buds don't fool around and get this, they have their own gods they worship! Haven't seen that around these places...yet. So here's some in-depth information:

The religious dragons have a special ability which they gain through converting to said unnamed religion. It is granted to them through one particular god and cannot be taken back so even if one converts to a different religion or abandons it all-together they'll always have the ability to turn themselves into rotting, stinking sacks of bones.
The just of this whole ability changing thing is that the dragons can look just like they would. Like I would look like me. And if they so chose to, their skin and scales and muscles and organs and stuff could disappear in the blink of an eye to leave bones only. Of course with age the bones turn more yellow and weathered. They can break, crack, chip, splinter, and that stuff just like every other bone but that's how you can hurt one of those undead dragons.
Of course they have their up-sides. They aren't on anyone's side. They're on their own. So if they grab you and drag you away and kill you, they have their reasons. Of course they usually gather during nights where there is no lights in the sky, no stars or moon. To discuss, sacrifice, that stuff. And since that black smoke stuff covered the moon and stars...well. I'll leave that to you to figure out.
Where they gather is in a graveyard but get this, no bones are buried here. There's all kinds of dead animals. Gryphons, snakes, even dragons. And where they gather is a cleared circle so no one has to sit on bones. Quite fascinating, truly.

Word has it, that Defyre, the leader of the evil alliance, is going to launch an interesting plan. He's also recruited some new but interesting dragon after Rezido, Defyre's right-claw dragon found the bugger.

And as a last note, we need some society here! Every dragon I see disappears except for the lazy administrators. We need company, truly do.

~ Hedger Baretooth

 Treeforge Information
« Result #8 on Sept 23, 2008, 5:47am »

Dragons: Cunning, lithe, and quick make these dragons able to slide in between branches and over them as if they were snakes in water. They usually stick to themselves but can be quite a help or your worst enemy in many cases. Pride and being territorial can make one turn against them if one explains no reason or insults them.

Land: Often times lush and green and full of life provided they have the sun and rain. The things that dwell in there is of great variety from large carnivorous plants that even prey on dragons to timid or dangerous taloned and colorful avians.

Flora:

Agenotree: The most common, tall tree in Treeforge, and in other clans, can grow some 50 meters high in Treeforge, but is considerably shorter elsewhere, and the bark is very hard and thick, and the trees seem to be useless. But, in Treeforge, they have a way of cutting the bark precisely, and it can be used to stop bleeding.

Fellis: A flowering tree that's fruit can be made into a juice that acts as a soporific; that is, it can cause sleep quickly and has many uses.

Numbweed: A medicinal shrub that, when smeared on a wound, kills all sensation; used as an anesthetic.

-Nymphwood
A delicate flower that grows in any kinds of body of water. It's roots are actually made up of small little groves that organisms inhabit. That create a symbiotic relationship with the plant. It gives the organism shelter and is fed by the scraps of food that are left behind. The nyphwood will only grow in water, or any other moist habitat. It is a very beautiful plant, it's petal are a whitish-pink color with an outline of red at the very ends. The petals also lye on top of one another folding inward till it reaches the center and swirls upward like a rose. This plant is good for curing most things like stomachaches and fatigue but in more serious cases if to much of the root is consumed it causes a posion itself from the organism living there.

Peppersprout-

A stocky, gnarled fat trunk-like thing without the bark reaches up almost 4 feet high, a voilet dappled with some light oranges. Thick hot pink petals twist to the ground, exposing the inner petals and 'pepper'. The inside petals are much smaller, daintier, and amazing scarlets, red-oranges, and maroons.

Inside this ring of second petals are brittle little seeds and something dark. The seeds of Peppersprout, when cooked, prove to cause a fever when consumed. However, the dark powder beneath the seeds has amazing healing powers for headaches if stirred properly in water and is great for bruises if mixed right with alcohol.

Rubush

The rubush is a small bush that can be found on almost any terrain except for that of Aresanesh. It is a dark ivy green with irridescent flakes on it that can make noses sneeze and eyes burn. If hit or touched it will usually leave many detachable blue thorns in one's fur/scales/ etc. Sometimes easy to get out but if it pierces the skin, usually it will inject a bacterial sickness known as the cold.

Fauna:

Eragos(Ru Bats)-

Also called Ru Bats, Eragos are actually monkeys of sorts. Living in Treeforge has them adapted to tree life well. They have wild and messy fur, brown with greenish to white stripes. But the wings are the most striking features of this species. Covered in fur, hot red lines streak up and down and, indeed, these wings are used to fly. Not for long distances, mind you, but simply short flights and leaping from branch to branch. OOH! And don't forget the tail! It is FIVE feet long, used for grabbing fruit, swinging off branchs, and whipping enemies.

"Is something wrong, Master Roy?" The elder asked. Roy looked up. "Oh, no, Marcus. Just an odd dream. But thank you for your concern." Roy said - he gave Marcus a smile, but it was forced, fake. He sat up, rubbing his eyes. He was very glad to be back in his room, out of that odd, misty dreamscape. It was a familiar place, unlike that odd rock and stream. His room was a comfy one - made of simple marble brick, like the rest of the castle. Many of Roy's own things adorned the room - an ornate, oak-carved dresser, a smallsword in it's case upon a shelf opposite the dresser, a four-poster bed, and a large, gold-framed portrait of himself - it was a few years old, but it had been commisioned from a very renowned painter, and Roy actually did sort of like the portrait.

He didn't know why he was so worried and tense, though. All of that was just a dream. Why should he be worried? He looked up at the knight before him - Sir Marcus was his name, and he and Roy shared a close bond - Marcus had been his protector since he was young, after all. And he could tell that Marcus knew he was lying. The knight sighed, shaking his head, pushing his shoulder-length black hair out of his face.

"No need to lie to me, Roy. But, if it's not something you want to talk about, then I shall leave you to your thoughts." Marcus said, giving Roy a sort of knowing smile. He stood, and Roy watched him as he exited the room. He stared at the door for a few seconds after he left. He rubbed his eyes out, staring at the door some more. What exactly had that dream been about? Who was that woman? She seemed very familiar, but...at the same time, he had never seen her before. Roy's blue eyes turned to the stand at the left of his bed, and caught something there...

A small, glowing orange stone.

Wonderful. Now he was going to be stuck with an arrogrant worm who he had no intentions on spending his time with and getting to know. However, he had no intentions on "complaining" and ending up like Salzaar probably would. "Alright," he said darkly, his voice betraying him. However, he nodded once to Defyre.

The Dark Lord gazed steadily at the two before he glanced at Rezido. "Alright," he said before turning back toward them. "You two are dismissed. I'll be watching you," he hissed before turning towards Rezido. Just to make sure neither would go ahead and ask or follow, he brought a swirl of darkness around he and Rezido, rapidly twisting to bring the two back to his chamber of darkness. "Now. What do you wish to discuss?" he asked, turning around abruptly to look at the plans that were engraved all over the walls. This was one thing he had been engrossed in. Perfecting plans. The monster which had been created was nearly prepared to descend to the ground. Which meant he had to prepare his followers and Rezido to enter the new realm and seal the way through or risk being followed by whelps.

- - - -

Griffes watched the swirling darkness before turning towards Salzaar. "Don't intend on getting to close to me, shiney," he snarled before turning and heading deeper into Garegon cave. He hadn't explored it before. Now was his chance. Perhaps he could even get something to eat as well. He frowned, his mind switching to focus on Salzaar. He was an arrogant, greedy, fool. It was obvious. And he was annoying. How could he be used for any advantages except annoying any dragon to the point of them killing themselves? Besides, surely there were more dragons here that he could get to know. Ones that were less like Salzaar and more like himself. Dangerous.

Sweat beaded Dagger's forehead and rolled down the sides of his sharply chiseled face. Overhead the sky was darkening rapidly and there were only a few stringy clouds in the sky. The moon was out, that was obvious because it lit some of Dagger's way through the darkly shadowed forest. However, he didn't need the light. Already a slight pain was coursing through his large body and his senses were improving. It wouldn't be long now.

Up ahead Dagger could see a fallen, rotting tree and he could hear the faint trickle of water. A stream or a small calm river at the most. Dagger paused in the middle of a moist grassy clearing. He would have to strip down just to save his clothes from tearing and cutting into his flesh. And that was what he chose to do before it became too late. Already his muscles were rippling and the pain was becoming stronger.

A slight breeze blew through the clearing, seeming to wrap around Dagger's now naked body, carrying with it the sounds and the smell of travellers. Now it was dark, too dark to tell what was in front of your face unless you had a torch. The moon could light only bare areas and where Dagger stood, he stood in the full light of it. A sudden jolt of pain made him let out a sharp gasp as his bones began shifting and changing just like his body. I'll track those furless whelps down, he thought clenching and unclenching his fists as his nails began to grow longer, sharper just like his teeth. Fur began growing all over his body, long, coarse, black fur. His face took on a canine-like appearance and his ears grew pointy. Blood would be shed once again....

- - - - - -

It was dark, oh so dark. Had the group no torches to light there way, they would have been lost. Zyrae knew that. Which was why she held one right in front of her. The problem with that was, she got one of the more direct views of the infamous frog-man, Mikan. Whatever had happened between him and that sorceress-dragon lady surely brought out the worst in him! The problem was: Zyrae was stuck with him. And not only stuck with him but the little boy and a girl who could surely yap your ear off! But she had quieted when it got dark enough to light the torches. Everyone had. Not only because it was getting dark, but because something eerie had surely settled in not just Zyrae's stomach, but everyone else's. And as they moved on, it kept getting worse but surprisingly, no one turned back. Probably because they had all seen worse when they were attacked by the dragons.

Thick yellow salive dripped on to the ground as Dagger slowly stalked the four. He was quiet, he had to be. And his black fur helped to blend in to the darkness so the runts wouldn't see him. His sharp sickly yellow eyes were focused on the four, taking each one in as if he were still human. His muscles rippled under his fur and his claws often sank into the ground with each step he took. He could walk on two legs if he chose but in order to remain as silent as possible he chose four. Dagger's gaze whipped to see what was up ahead. No one. Good. Swiftly he moved ahead of the group, his ears pricked and his fur bristled. He moved a little ways ahead and then went in front of them until they were close enough to shine their torch-light on him. Weak. That was all they would be. He could remove the little boy with ease and the girls as well. However, the strange one at the lead might prove to be harder.

Zyrae couldn't shake the horrible feeling growing inside. They were being watched. And not just by night creatures but by something else. Something worse. She could feel it! She let her free hand graze over her bow and quiver just to make sure she had them. This wasn't going to be good. She could see it in the others' faces.

Salzaar's red eyes widened, and then abruptly narrowed as he watched Griffes landing. He would not be swayed into being awed by such a profound move, by the fluidity of the wingless one. He couldn't help but to gasp to himself as he saw the leg muscles in Griffes convulge and tighten upon impact, saw the other's jaw barely tense as he landed upon the stone floor fully erect. No Salzaar wouldn't think of this other as amazing, only he, the great Golden Scaled one, could be such. No one could be compared to his beauty, not even with such grace as the way this other moved in the air. Salzaar may have had to kill him if he gained a more conventional way of flight, because surely Griffies would show him up in all aspects of the statement. He felt his eyes narrowing again at his final glance over Griffes, the new dragon who had already been placed in a league with the two immortals, whereas, he, himself had been trying to do so for several years, and he found no leverage.

Rezido's eyes cut to Salzaar. "Answer him." He said in a low voice, too deep in thought to really seem angry. The Golden Dragon had been staring at Griffes for a least a minute and a half since Defyre spoke. Rezido slowly sunk back into his own mind, he had delivered a promising new Dragon to Defyre who, with time, could be useful, but it also presented Defyre with another weapon. Rezido's seafoam eyes took in each of the dragons around him, each one scattering to different corners of Garegon, each one with his own agenda, but serving the Dark Lord's as well.

"I'll help anyway I can." Salzaar answered finally, he looked to Griffes and smiled. "Looks like we'll be friends after all Fi-fi." His smile turned a bit malignant.

Rezido looked to Defyre, he was a bit anxious because he had many questions he needed to asked the Dark Lord, one was what the man had been thinking about before he had entered his chambers, the other was what the next plan of attack on the realms around them were, it seemed like forever since they last plagued the innocences, enstilled any sort of fear or reminder that they were still around, still plotting, still going to be kings, Gods really, of everything around them. At least that is what Rezido hoped for, he knew that by the end of it Defyre would always be stronger then him, Rezido could bend the sea to his will, but Defyre bent the very fabric of darkness.

"My Lord." Rezido whispered hurriedly. "Once we are through here I would like to...have a talk with you." The words didn't sound to alarming to him, he wondered how they would be taken, if Defyre would even give him this. But why wouldn't he?

"So, we've got a contract...with whom, exactly?" The large man asked. One of the others, his back against a tree, snorted and shook his head, while another answered his question in a cool tone. "You should have been paying attention." He said calmly. "Our contract is with a youthful mage in Crystania City, and some noble boy." He explained - normally, he would expound at length about his largest companions stupidity and ignorance, but now was not really the time - he was in bitter mood anyway, and his partner's idiocy was not helping his growing headache.

The group was a small one, but an odd one at best. Four of them were there, each united with the others for their own reasons, and each having worked with one another on several occasions. All four of them persued their own interests. One was filled with greed and desired gold and possessions greatly. Another desired a beautiful wife, a wife he couldn't have unless he proved himself. The third desired a weapon of great power, a weapon searched for but never found in thousands of years. And the fourth seeked a simpler pleasure - that of an adventure, the adrenaline of fighting.

The first was a large, burly man of great bulk, slightly more than six and a half feet in height, accompanied by wide shoulders and thick arms and muscle. Slung over his back was a great axe, one that looked as if it was impossible to lift. His pitch hair was cut short, and his shave was unkempt, a heavy shade of dark whiskers. He was clothed in thick platemail armor - unadorned, unlike that of the noble warriors of Crystania. No, this plate armor had no gold trimming, no emblems nor any runes. No, this was a simple, steely wall of protection, though it was slightly battered. He was, needless to say, extremely intimidating, though the smallest of them ironically scared the huge warrior.

A silence passed over the group.

"No lecture this time, Lucius?" He asked, crossing his arms. The smallest of them let a hint of a smile grace his lips, one which quickly
disappeared. "Would you prefer it, Wallace?" He retorted quickly. Wallace chuckled, shaking his head. "No thanks, spellweaver." He surprised himself sometimes - he had feared the mage, Lucius, at first, even been suspicious of him. Those mage types were odd, after all - recluses, and usually quite bitter. Yet, they had become comrades, even friends...but the mage still scared him.

Ironic, that.

He looked at Lucius, sitting on the ground, his legs crossed. Wallace himself was standing against a tree. Lucius was a tiny man, and the youngest of them. Wallace was 34, and Lucius was 25 - not much of a difference, but it was even stranger that Lucius was so wise. There was no sign of a beard at all on his face - Wallace had never seen any sign of facial hair on him before, but he didn't ask about it. Probably just some mage thing.

Nobody asked about those 'mage things'. They were best left alone, even trivial things like facial hair.

Continuing, however, Lucius had long, blonde hair reaching down to the small of his back, covered by a long, flowing light blue robe. He was quiet, most of the time, though he was a little bitter when he did speak. Currently, he was reading a book - Wallace found this odd, since there were no markings on it at all.

The third of them looked up - he was a bit different than the rest. He was the 'leader', in a way, in that he accepted the contracts. A blade was belted at his side - he was a rather average looking man for the most part. He had a clean shave, much unlike Wallace. His armor was of rawhide and leather, and this coupled with his dark brown hair and light green eyes gave him a wild look, a look that evoked imagery of long, winding paths through forests - much like the one they were resting on now.

"Hey, what's wrong, Nirav?" Wallace asked - the axe-wielding warrior was always the loudest and most boisterous of all of them, and usually it was their leader who was right in stride with him, while Lucius and their fourth member would be silent. Their fourth member - well, none of them knew his name for sure - he had been asked to be called 'Dagger'. He was the newest one to join their group, and none of them knew how old he was. But he was strong, immensely strong, but quiet most of the time...

Nirav shrugged.

"Just wondering where Dagger went..." He said. They were currently resting - night was approaching, and Dagger had gone to scout ahead. They were waiting for him now. The mercenary group had decided to go northwest on a path through the colossal Aranaka forest from Tarrek Town, where they had gotten commisioned. They were to go and escort a noble, his sister, and a mage to the Library of Ancients, a large building in the middle of Aranaka where many scholars would spend their lives. It was business as usual, really, although their destination was odd. Lucius was the only one who seemed intrigued to go, but he was very bookish. Just the usual.

Or so they thought.

(OOC: Didn't make any of the charries officially, but meh. Also, all of them are up for grabs, Defy, Twill, Reign. Elaborate their personalities as you see fit. Just lemme know which ones you want. ^^)

'What is this?' the boy whispered to himself. He looked around, yet he could not even see the nose before his face. He reached his hands out, yet nothing was there. Nothing but a bleak, grey, nothingness. He moved forward, his hands extended out before him, blindly searching for something, anything. The boy's soft hands found cold, round stone. The heavy fog seemed to clear slightly, allowing Roy to see again. The 15-year-old looked around, his light blue eyes taking in what little he could. Even with the fog slightly cleared, it was hard to see. He continued to let his fingers lightly brush the rock before him, as if taking his hand away from it would catapult him back into nothingness. Roy heard something - a quiet, gentle sound, smooth, somehow. He looked around - the only thing he saw was lush, green grass and the huge boulder before him. He turned, his eyes bright, walking very slowly towards the noise. The mist parted a little as Roy continued to move towards the noise. Somehow, he knew his way to the noise without having ever gone there before. It was coming from everywhere, but Roy knew the origin. And somehow, he located it without a thought.

He stepped up to the small stream, looking around for...well, he wasn't sure what he was looking for. But he knew it was there. And suddenly, his senses were overwhelmed by something powerful - a scent, a touch, even a taste. He understood what the sound was now.

He blinked, and it was as if he was truly seeing for the first time. He was staring at someone unfamiliar - a beautiful woman, one with red, almost orange hair. Roy looked at her - she was truly beautiful in every way. Her eyes were odd, however - the pupils were like a cat's. Just looking at her barraged his senses, and Roy loved it. But he wanted to look away. 'Y-you...you're not...' he stuttered. The woman moved close quickly from where she had appeared from the stream. Roy was a teenager, after all and their situation was having a profound effect on him. This woman was wearing absolutely nothing. Roy felt his cheeks heat up as the woman closed the distance between them, the young boy blushing heavily. Nothing like this had ever happened before. He didn't want to look up at her - her eyes were intense, and she seemed to not care about her state of nudity. Her hand found his, he looked down - her nails were rather pointy, sharp.

'Who - who are you?' he asked, looking up at her - she was slightly taller than him. She smiled, and Roy gasped in turn. Her teeth were all sharp fangs, an outlandish sight on such a beauty.

'I am here to help your world.' She stated - her voice was beautiful, serene, but Roy couldn't be fooled. He stepped away. 'What are you?' He asked, a little alarmed. She shook her head, grabbing his wrist. Roy yelled, but there was no getting away from her...

'You humans are so untrusting.' She said. She placed a small stone in his hand. A motherly look was in her eyes. She leaned forward, kissing his forehead...

And then everything faded to black.

The city was humid even when the weather was supposed to return to freezing cold. It was going slowly this year and Zyrae wasn't so easily pleased with that. So now she trudged with the group of over-determined people to wherever Mikan had chose to lead them to. The problem was, with the humidity and the sun to bring out the worst kind of heat, Zyrae had on clothes meant for a warm day with a cool breeze. With any luck wherever they were heading was cooler than outside inthe city streets!

What was even worse was that there were guards everywhere. As innocent as Zyrae was, she did not like guards or anyone who believed they had the right to order everyone around for no particular reason. And after the battle with the "dragons", she didn't want any other problems. If anything, dragons were myths. There had to be a far more logical explanation for the three things which she wanted to find out about.

"Alright, so where exactly would we be going?" she asked glancing at each person in turn, looking for some sort of answer even if in a low voice. She hadn't been paying attention before, she had been trying to find a possible reason for what had happened.

Ooc: Was typing this in the middle of a fight between my brothers, sorry if it sounds a little out-of-the-mind-ish.
