Verkkren arched an eyebrow at the sudden hostitility, but the truth was, she honestly couldn't blame him. If she had been in his place, then Verkkren wouldn't have trusted any harpies; In fact, she would have burned them all to a crisp. If. Verkkren sighed and smiled slightly. Well, the dragon hadn't set his fire upon her yet, had he? That told Verkkren a lot, and it sort of touched the harpy. But Verkkren still had a job to do.
"Right, I understand... And now, of course, you'll excuse me because I, alas, must go drag my 'lazy arse' down to Queenie's quarters and report this. Oh, and..." She looked into his eyes. "Thankyou."
Calipher nodded slightly as Geren spoke, walking very, very slowly. He cursed when his paw hit a rather large rock, and was about to swear again when the harpy's voice spoke up, as melodic and sweet as before, but with a dab of sarcasm, weariness, and something else. "You will do nothing of the sort, harpy!"
"Why, scared of a few 'birds'? Don't worry, dragon, I am to tell the queen of you, and she'll decide what to do. It isn't my place to act like a queen... Besides, if I could affect it, somehow you'd get out safely with only minor scratches. But you know how it goes, must follow the rules of your leader and blah blah blah..."

This was really getting out of Geren's claw. He, for one, couldn't find any reason to attack her first of all nor could the dragon understand such...kindness coming from such a beast. Then again if harpies did come, Geren could burn them as he did the others. "Let her be, if any do come, we can burn the feathers from their wings," he said glancing at the harpy as though her kind had no chance of survival.

"Exactly. Do you know how many dragon raids we get in just a few months? We get tons and then barely any of us are left, save the elite guard and the queen... Which costs us much. It takes a long time to hatch new harpies, trust me... And, as you know, there are no male harpies..." Verkkren trailed off, knowing the dragon would get the point.
The harpy then remembered something little that had caught her attention. "And what do you mean by 'we'? The only other person besides you and me here is your friend, and he's below this chamber, in case you haven't noticed." "Doesn't matter, bird; You forgot, dragons are huge and they fly fast."
Calipher felt openly hostile to this creature, this thing, this monster. He was also slightly confused, a bit unsure as to whether the harpy's 'kindness' was a trap or not... But, no, it couldn't be possible... Harpies and dragons were enemies. Dragons were noble; Harpies, well, not quite so...
Biting into all of his rage and fury, Calipher spat out "Bird, quit wasting our time and go get yourself killed!"

"And seemingly I'm supposed to care if he's below or above me, in different chambers or different realms? His name is Calipher if you haven't noticed," Geren began, his words cold as ice. "And your dragonlings are of none of my buisness, if any harpy chases us, we'll kill them," Geren threatened, blowing a puff of black smoke from his nostrils.

"Okay, firstly, since you seem to know him, shouldn't you care whether 'Calipher' is in a different realm?" The harpy grinned slightly, exposing her sharp white canines, which gleamed in the light of the cavern like priceless pearls. The boy's tongue obviously wasn't working, or so it seemed to Verkkren. Already, she had noticed a few mistakes in what he had said. "And I believe I wasn't talking about dragonlings. A slip of the tongue, I assu-", she started, but was cut-off by the sound of a pair of wings beating and her own name being called by a familar voice.
